Seven days have come and gone. During this past week, the news has been filled with The World Cup, OJ Simpson, and a variety of life-altering stories that have and will continue to shape the lives of people around the globe. You can and probably already have heard your fill of those stories that are full of shock and awe – and just the right amount of attention-grabbing spark to make the headlines. But those aren’t the stories I’m interested in. 😉
This week, there were other stories, and those are the ones that grabbed my attention:
I just found out that all I need to be a professional soccer player worthy of World Cup ambitions is caramel. Without it, though, comes loss and dashed hopes. Just ask Uruguay.

Um…I just don’t have words. Wait, one word does come to mind: CREEPY!

And in terms of just being cool, and promoting more out-of-this-world research, this next news story fascinates the science side of me.

Oh the dead people posing is just disturbing on so many levels.
Agreed! Thanks for commenting, T.F. 🙂
After beating England last night, I think Uruguay figured out how to live without it 😦
The photos of corpses reminds me of the practise in the Victorian era. They would do the same thing – although, at the time, that would have been the only photo of their loved one the family would ever have, so you can kind of understand why they’d want to.
It looks like Uruguay did overcome the lack of caramel. Sorry about that. 😦
The bit about the Victorian era is an interesting aside to that story. I guess I could understand if that was the one and only picture your family had of you – still think it’s gross mind you, but I could understand it. But in the modern era, I don’t think that’s the case. And now, it’s up there with stuffing a deceased pet on the ew scale. 😉
Yeah, Uruguay, blame it on the missing caramel. The dead lady in New Orleans is hysterical!! What crazy stuff is going on down there?!
I could understand if it was chocolate, but caramel? Sheesh. 🙂
In terms of New Orleans. I. Just. Don’t. Understand. Ick, is the only other word I can formulate other than creepy.
OJ Simpson’s in the news again? I’ll have to check that out!
Yeah, there have been a multitude of pieces commemorating the twenty year anniversary of his wife’s death and the circus that followed. Sad.
