IWSG and Weekly News

InsecureWritersSupportGroup2

Time for another posting for Insecure Writer’s Support Group. This month is a double for a handful of people also participating in the A to Z Challenge. Kudos to you all – I’m not quite brave enough to balance something else, but I’ll stand over here and admire you all from a far. 😉

The awesome co-hosts today are Suzanne Furness, Tonja Drecker, Toi Thomas, Rachna Chhabria, Fundy Blue, and Donna Hole!

Instead of discussing my own personal insecurity, curiosity (which happens more often than not) or posing a question, I’d like to add words of encouragement to those undertaking the monthlong A to Z Challenge. Writing is a slog and willingly challenging yourself is admirable and ultimately builds better writers. These words are so true, so I offer them up to you:

“If you want to be a writer, you must do two things above all others: read a lot and write a lot.” Stephen King

Blog reading counts, right?

Now on to the news.

First up, some brazen thieves. How do you steal something that big?

Cool. I wonder if they’re edible. Would that be weird?

And in science news, it’s possible that George Lucas was on to something. Two sun planets. Definite shorts weather.

That’ll do it for me. Have a great end to your week.

About kimlajevardi

I am a forty-something-year-old writer. I'm currently drafting my second book. I've also written short stories, poems, and some non-fiction over the last several years. My interest in writing formed during countless hours with my nose tucked in books. I may have even been clutching a novel as I was born. :)

  1. That quote is so true. I’m not doing A to Z this year, but I’m cheering everyone on.

  2. Reading is reading, right? Good. Off to read your links. Happy writing.

They not only stole the giant chicken, but they actually bought tools to cut it off of its rebar anchors? That’s dedication. Those mushrooms are FREAKY! The whole idea of twin stars boggles my mind. Have fun reading A-Z posts!

Dedicated thieves make for an interesting story idea but not a comfortable community. The mushrooms are freaky, but cool. I would have had such fun with those as a kid. I’m only reading some A to Z posts. My comment was geared more toward those who are participating. 🙂

  4. Writing the blog posts for A to Z was fun and easy, I think. It’s reading all of these and keeping up with the massive number of comments each day that’s exhausting me!

  5. Blog reading and writing does count!

  6. Yes lots of reading! Wishing all those A-Zers lots of luck and energy!

  7. Lol, blog reading definitely counts in April!!
