Cheers!

Expecting a hello? Well, I thought I’d mix things up. Cheers sounds so happy, and, well… cheery. A great way to end yet another hump day I think.

Time for another round of news pieces that found their way into my life. I found this first one and immediately thought of my horror-writer critique partner. I couldn’t imagine moving through this place myself–it has heebie jeebies written all over it, but I could picture numerous story ideas that could be generated from it. Oh the possibilities. 🙂

I vote spaceship in disguise. All of that snow will melt the second I can find the button to start the thrusters. Where is that darned button?

Fascinating new biological discovery that proves that genetics is mind-blowingly cool. It’s not just about the DNA folks.

That’s all for yet another Wednesday. I hope you have a great end of your week, and in particular, weekend. Goodnight.

  1. Okay, that stacked house is giving me a fear of heights. No way could I be above the bottom floor in that thing. It looks like it would collapse!

  2. That’s a cool house.

I find pictures of Detroit depressing when it was once a grand city. I used to want to visit it as a kid, but not anymore.

The abandoned hospital is horrific on so many levels. The whole basement frozen with ice, a mountain of old patient files, a nearby body discovered. I’m very glad I don’t live in Detroit. The house looks like it’s tempting fate and will topple soon. The DNA histone thing was awesome! I love that science discovers new cool stuff all the time! Have a great week! 🙂

I’d think you’d want to live in Detroit if only to see that hospital and the inspiration it provides for your horror, Lex. Isn’t that histone thing awesome? Definitely had me geeking out. Thanks! You too. 🙂

What a strange looking house… bet the view is awesome from the top level:)

  5. Creepy old hospital.
Someone else posted a link to several pictures of that house. It’s really amazing, although I would feel nervous on the top floor.

I would be nervous as well–creeped out beyond belief if I’m honest. I’m a big ol’ chicken and wouldn’t be caught dead nosing around a place like that, even though it would be super interesting to see.
