Hi all! Time for another weekly news break. I’ve found a few tasty nuggets for you to gnaw on. Sit back, click along and enjoy. This should be just enough to satisfy your craving for the next seven days.
Can you say whoops? Do you think they still have their jobs?
Some people will do anything for their fifteen minutes, won’t they? Wow!
In science news, a great new idea to tackle cancer. But, um… herpes? Can you imagine explaining to people that your doctor gave you herpes to cure your cancer? It’s the wild, wild west in the field of medical advancements, isn’t it? So many possibilities if you can see around proverbial corners.

That’s a wrap. Just enough to whet your appetite for more. Same time, same place next week? Until then, cheers. 🙂
Not sure about the herpes bit. Just writing it makes me blush.
Would definitely make for many awkward conversations. 🙂
I always enjoy your links. Happy Halloween!
Thanks, you too!
Considering the size of the display, you have to wonder what went through those janitor’s minds when they first saw it.
That second story – some people are too focused on me, me, me.
Have a great weekend!
The size thing got me too. Wouldn’t you think something of that magnitude meant something? Especially in an art gallery. Such variety of pieces that it has to be pretty obvious that it’s art and not party trash. I agree about the self-centered focus of a number of people. Seriously?
I had a great weekend. I hope you did too, Alex!
From the looks of the “installation,” I”m thinking the trash bin was the right place for it. Don’t they have laws against moving bodies around? At least the miffed diver said he’ll put them back. (Though why anyone needs them back in the river is beyond me…) I figure just about any disease, other than the Black Death, would be preferable to cancer. Although with a mere 16% of patients seeing results, and only that the tumors shrank, not that they went away, I wouldn’t call the new drug particularly successful. But the idea of engineering a virus to kill cancer cells is awesome. Hope they continue the research. Have a good week & Halloween, Kim!! 🙂
The trash is probably the right place, but I doubt the artist and gallery felt that way. They’re fake bodies. But what gets me is that he is so desperate for attention that he needs everyone to know he also found them. Really? They’re fake bodies that are part of a prank. I agree about the engineering potential. We’re advancing so far that who knows what’s next.
