It’s that time once again. Do you feel the collective twitching? The increased clicks of coffee pots sliding back in for more brewing, clattering coffee cups or some other type of cup smacking against desktops, and the endless crinkle of wrappers from chocolate-based treats. I do. I may even be contributing to the cacophony… Maybe. 😉
Thank you to our helpful co-hosts this month: L.G. Keltner, Denise Covey, Sheri Larsen, J.Q. Rose, Chemist Ken and Michelle Wallace.

In the spirit of celebratory news and in keeping with great new things in a great new year, a plug for an author friend of mine that released her newest novel on the 4th:
CLOAKED by T.F. Walsh Is Now Out
Cloaked Blurb:
Raised by an overly protective wulfkin pack, Daciana leaps at the chance to venture into the human world for her one-year independence ritual. But after someone steals the endangered bear cubs she’s been assigned to protect, she must locate them or lose her job and return home in disgrace. The sexy inspector on the case isn’t making this any easier. He knows nothing of her kind, and wulfkin rules forbid relationships with humans.
Newly divorced Inspector Connell Lonescu trusts no one but himself. He’s convinced relationships are a waste of time and thinks burying himself in work will ease the pain. Yet he’s attracted to the gorgeous and mysterious Daciana, even if there’s something slightly odd about her. Can Connell learn to trust the sexy but secretive woman?
Cloaked is the prequel to Cloaked in Fur, book 1 in The Wulfkin Legacy Series. Find out how Daciana and Connell fell in love and set in motion the paramount events that forever change their lives and those around them.

Next up, the news. But since it is a new year, I want to look forward. Good things await. Proof? Check out these stories.
Predictions for technology don’t seem that out there.

Quite a list of game changers, and then there are unicorns.
And the cherry on the prediction cake–science. From dark matter to asteroids, predictions of science stories that will make the news in 2016.

That’ll do it for another posting. Have a great week, and I’ll see you in a week.
Congrats to Tania! I have my copy and can’t wait to read it.
Yay! I got mine as well.
Congrats for your friend’s success. Predictions are fun to read about, but rarely come true as expected.
You’re absolutely correct about predictions, but they are fun to contemplate.
Congrats to TF on her new release!! The tech article kinda confused me. I don’t even have a smartphone. It’s pretty nauseating that pot is basically becoming legal so that the gov’t can scoop up the drug dealers’ earnings. Some of the predictions were really interesting. I’m wondering why debt free college is so important now. We friggin’ took out loans and got jobs and paid them off. What, the new generation thinks that’s too hard? Drones seem very interesting. I’d still like to see more cameras everywhere to catch crimes and criminals. Pretty sick of the he-said/she-said thing and no one can prove it. I’m sure science stuff will be great in the new year, but it hurts my tiny brain. Thanks for all the news, Kim!
I’m excited for her. The tech stuff doesn’t seem that far out to me because I keep seeing things about most of them in a variety of other stories. I don’t know why college has because the current focal topic, but my son is all over it as an issue. It may be cost versus projected income ratio that makes it hot button. I can’t wait to see what science has in store for us, but I must admit that I don’t understand all of it. I love it anyway!
Thanks for dropping in, Lex. 🙂
Writing can be noisy. I do eat, drink, and many times listen to music while I’m doing it. I enjoyed Cloaked.
I can’t listen to music while I’m writing, but I make a lot of grunting and gnashing sounds. Music of sorts, right? 🙂
And yet, some of those predictions do seem a bit out there.
Saw TF’s announcement – congratulations to her.
No coffee for me. But you can pass the Hot Tamales.
I do enjoy a handful of hot tamales every now and again. The tech just seems inevitable based on the focus on those same areas in the news.
Yay… thank you so much Kim:) Loved appearing on your blog:)
My pleasure! Fingers crossed for much success.
