Weekly News

I’m back. Another Wednesday, another posting of the news I found intriguing. I hope you enjoy what I’ve been noshing on this week.

First up, a very scary flight for a handful of folks. But I didn’t choose this story just because of its potential to freak out spider phobes. I have a teeny, tiny confession. Me and a teacher friend also once brought a tarantula on a flight. Her spider did not get lost, and we were bringing him back from a science conference, but…I can see how it could happen. 😉

Dumb criminals never fail to entertain. Hide and seek. *facepalm

In cool science news, evidence to trust your gut.

That’ll do it for me this evening. Next time I come calling with the news, I’ll be free of my teaching duties for the summer. Yay!

I am a forty-something-year-old writer. I'm currently drafting my second book. I've also written short stories, poems, and some non-fiction over the last several years. My interest in writing formed during countless hours with my nose tucked in books. I may have even been clutching a novel as I was born. :)

Who on earth brings spiders in a container they can escape from?! That woman in the skirt (and her daughter) were probably traumatized for life. The naked guy fell into the chimney while “playing hide and seek.” He had 9 hours to think up an excuse and that’s the best he could do? I’ve learned to trust my gut over the years, but it can still be off sometimes. Thanks for the cool stories and have a great weekend!

The hide and seek excuse got me too. What a dunderhead. I agree about the gut. Mine can be capricious, but I’d still rather trust it than go blindly into our world. Thanks, Lex! I hope you had a great weekend.

I’d certainly jump if I saw a tarantula on a plane, but I don’t have a spider phobia. I’d be more worried someone would squish the poor thing.

  3. Naked in the chimney seems like a really bad idea…
