IWSG and Weekly News

It’s time for another posting of The Insecure Writer’s Support Group (IWSG). I’m helping co-host this month along with these awesome writers: Victoria Marie Lees, Joylene Nowell Butler,Erika Beebe, and Lee Lowery! Check them out!

The optional question this month isWhat’s harder to do, coming up with your book title or writing the blurb?

Absolutely the blurb. Titles are easier than blurbs for me. That’s the quickest I’ve ever answered one of these.

Time for some news.

I’ll just drop this happy story here. We need more of these. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/2-dogs-save-owner-on-mountain_n_6180f016e4b0ec286d3124ea

The physics of baby ducks. So cool! https://www.sciencenews.org/article/physics-why-ducklings-swim-row-behind-mother-duck-waves-energy

About kimlajevardi

I am a forty-something-year-old writer. I'm currently drafting my second book. I've also written short stories, poems, and some non-fiction over the last several years. My interest in writing formed during countless hours with my nose tucked in books. I may have even been clutching a novel as I was born. :)

Thank you for hosting! I have discovered I am definitely in the minority when it comes to this struggle lol. Mine is definitely the title.

  4. Blurbs are horribly hard. I agree. 🙂 Thanks for co-hosting!

  5. I agree that blurbs are much harder to create – or come up with – than titles. Titles are fun, but you have to get it right and they stare at the potential customers in a more obvious way. Thanks for co-hosting!

  9. cleemckenzie says:

What a great dog-heroes story that was, and now I can tell my grandkids about why ducks follow their mother. I’m with you on the topic of titles v. blurbs. I would have be by yesterday, but for some reason, your blog wouldn’t let me in. Thanks for a great co-hosting job.

  10. Arlee Bird says:

I can crank out titles all day while I never seem to get a blurb quite right. Thanks for hosting.

I like doing the title too! If the blurb is the hook for the book, the title is the book’s scent.

  20. chemistken says:

I remember back when people with small cars would tailgate large trucks so that their cars would be sucked along and their gas mileage would jump. Kind of dangerous, but back then people would do anything to save money.
