It’s time for another posting of The Insecure Writer’s Support Group (IWSG). I’m helping co-host this month along with these awesome writers: Victoria Marie Lees, Joylene Nowell Butler,Erika Beebe, and Lee Lowery! Check them out!
The optional question this month is — What’s harder to do, coming up with your book title or writing the blurb?
Absolutely the blurb. Titles are easier than blurbs for me. That’s the quickest I’ve ever answered one of these.
Time for some news.
I’ll just drop this happy story here. We need more of these. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/2-dogs-save-owner-on-mountain_n_6180f016e4b0ec286d3124ea
The physics of baby ducks. So cool! https://www.sciencenews.org/article/physics-why-ducklings-swim-row-behind-mother-duck-waves-energy
I leave you with a fun song. See you in seven. https://youtu.be/mW1dbiD_zDk
Thank you for hosting! I have discovered I am definitely in the minority when it comes to this struggle lol. Mine is definitely the title.
I don’t feel like I’m great at either. (Shannon @thewarrior muse dot com–WP defaults to my podcast website)
Thanks for co-hosting this month. And you’re absolutely right–blurbs can be painful! @samanthabwriter from
Balancing Act
Blurbs are horribly hard. I agree. 🙂 Thanks for co-hosting!
My pleasure. Thanks for stopping by!
I agree that blurbs are much harder to create – or come up with – than titles. Titles are fun, but you have to get it right and they stare at the potential customers in a more obvious way. Thanks for co-hosting!
It’s true that titles are consequential.
Wow, I was beginning to think I was the only one who has an easier time with the titles. 😀
Thanks for co-hosting. I enjoyed the duck physics;)
Duck physics is the best physics.
Thanks for co-hosting! Now, I need to learn about those baby ducks.
Cute, right?
What a great dog-heroes story that was, and now I can tell my grandkids about why ducks follow their mother. I’m with you on the topic of titles v. blurbs. I would have be by yesterday, but for some reason, your blog wouldn’t let me in. Thanks for a great co-hosting job.
That’s weird. Your grandkids will love to hear about the duckies.
I can crank out titles all day while I never seem to get a blurb quite right. Thanks for hosting.

My pleasure. Thanks for stopping by!
Thanks for co-hosting! My titles might change, but my blurbs definitely will. 🙂
So true!
Thanks for co-hosting! Both of them are hard for me!!
My pleasure! I really get it. Titles are easier for me, not easy. Thanks for stopping by!
Reading happy stories and learning something about duck physics will be a nice change of pace. Thanks for finding the links and sharing them with us. Thanks, too for co-hosting this month.

I like doing the title too! If the blurb is the hook for the book, the title is the book’s scent.
Interesting way of looking at it.
I remember back when people with small cars would tailgate large trucks so that their cars would be sucked along and their gas mileage would jump. Kind of dangerous, but back then people would do anything to save money.
Thanks for co-hosting IWSG this month!
I remember a story about that.
My pleasure. Thanks for stopping by!
Thanks for hostessing, Kim, and for giving my mood a happy boost this morning!
Glad I added a boost to your day!

Smart little duckies. And dogs! They saved his life.
It was all about the animals today. 😊
Agree. And this was the shortest IWSG answer for me, too. LOL Thanks for co-hosting.
LOL. Thanks by for stopping by!
Thanks for co-hosting this month. Titles are my hardest!
My pleasure! Thanks for stopping by.
Thanks for co-hosting. I wish my titles came easier for me. For some odd reason, I don’t struggle with the blurb as much.
Everyone has a problem area, huh? Wish we could share skill sets sometimes.
Dogs are awesome.
Thanks for co-hosting today!
Yeah they are. My pleasure, Alex!
Great song choice — one can (almost) never go wrong with a Pink song 🙂 Thanks for co-hosting.
