IWSG and Weekly News

It is time once again for my Insecure Writer’s Support Group (IWSG) post. Our co-hosts this month are Kim Elliott, Melissa Maygrove, Chemist Ken, Lee Lowery, and Nancy Gideon!

May 4 question – It’s the best of times; it’s the worst of times. What are your writer highs (the good times)? And what are your writer lows (the crappy times)?

My writing highs overtake me when my writing flows. I love the feeling when all the pieces click into place, and the words become the most natural thing in the world. Those experiences will leave me excited, a smile glued to my face.

My writing lows come from opposite experience. Being stuck, not knowing what comes next, or pulling at the threads of my story and being completely unable to weave them together. It sucks, but I refuse to think about it now. I’m been deep in highs lately, so … I now transition to the news. 😉

My first story involves cake and a heart-warming gesture. Enjoy both!

I’m wrapping up early today. Enjoy, and I’ll see you in seven.

About kimlajevardi

I am a forty-something-year-old writer. I'm currently drafting my second book. I've also written short stories, poems, and some non-fiction over the last several years. My interest in writing formed during countless hours with my nose tucked in books. I may have even been clutching a novel as I was born. :)

  1. Hold onto the highs as long as you can.

  2. spunkonastick says:

They replaced her cake! How sweet.

  3. Stick with those highs.
Sweet story about the woman and her cake.

  4. So agree with you on your highs and lows of writing. Glad you’re in a high point right now.
