Welcome to another monthly post of the Insecure Writer’s Support Group (IWSG). It’s the time of the month when twittering keyboard monkeys hop between blogs to commiserate with other twittering keyboard monkeys. Join in the fun by clicking on the image above.
Our awesome co-hosts for the October 5th posting are: Tonja Drecker, Victoria Marie Lees, Mary Aalgaard, and Sandra Cox!
Optional question—What do you consider the best characteristics of your favorite genre?
Well, one of my favorite genres is fantasy. The reason why is first and foremost because of the adventure, but my love of the genre also derives from the presence of magic, the range of creatures (especially dragons!), the incredible world-building, and badass, sword-wielding heroines. I could go on and on, but it’s time for some news.
The first story up tonight is another example of one animal adopting another, and I’m a sucker for these stories.

In science news, a Nobel prize awarded for molecular Legos. That makes my inner child very happy.
I leave you with a musical earworm. Enjoy and I’ll see you in seven.
Sounds like you have a blast writing sword-wielding badass fantasy heroines, Kim! 😀 Molecular legos? Wow. I love Billie Eilish’s song Lose Your Power.
I love writing them!
I love fantasies for the same reasons as you.
So good!
I love the world-building fantasy.
Same.
And who doesn’t like dragons?
Right?
