IWSG and Weekly News

Welcome to another monthly posting for the Insecure Writer’s Support Group (IWSG). We post the first Wednesday of the month. If you want to participate, click the link above and get started. The awesome co-hosts for the March 1 posting of the IWSG are Diedre Knight,Tonya Drecker,Bish Denham,Olga Godim, and JQ Rose!

March 1 question – Have you ever read a line in novel or a clever plot twist that caused you to have author envy?

All the time! But even more important than envy, I take inspiration from what I read. I am a reader at heart, and books inspire every scene that I write. I hope I can similarly inspire someone someday. Now, time for some news.

This first story had me at the title.

About kimlajevardi

I am a forty-something-year-old writer. I'm currently drafting my second book. I've also written short stories, poems, and some non-fiction over the last several years. My interest in writing formed during countless hours with my nose tucked in books. I may have even been clutching a novel as I was born. :)

  1. I like the idea of being inspired by great lines and plot twists too.

It’s why I’m a writer in the first place. I think a lot of us started out as voracious readers who just couldn’t get enough of what a truly great book can do.

    Oh no! Bad dog. LOL

  3. It’s interesting that most IWSGers read ‘envy’ as a negative attitude. Not saying I didn’t, just an observation. I like the idea it also means inspiration and awe.

  4. Well done, dog.
If it’s clear tonight, I’ll look for Venus and Jupiter.
