IWSG and Weekly News

Welcome to another monthly posting of the Insecure Writer’s Support Group (IWSG). The awesome co-hosts this month are C. Lee McKenzie,JQ Rose, Jennifer Lane, and Jacqui Murray!

The optional question is: Book reviews are for the readers. When you leave a book review do you review for the Reader or the Author? Is it about what you liked and enjoyed about your reading experience, or do you critique the author?

I review for the reader. Most of the reviews I write these days are for books written by friends, so my primary goal is to use the best aspects of the story to help attract readers. I don’t leave reviews if I don’t like the book.

Time for some news.

My first story tonight involves a very naughty kangaroo.

In science this week, a perfect job for AI. Keep it away from books and art and instead use it for things like helping detect cancer. I heart science!

I leave you with a little music to kick off this holiday month. Enjoy!

  1. I don’t post a review if I can’t say something nice too.

I bet catching a kangaroo is difficult.

  5. I don’t review if I don’t like the book either.
A kangaroo punch to the face would hurt. They are powerful little critters.
