Welcome back to another monthly post for The Insecure Writer’s Support Group (IWSG). The first Wednesday of every month writers from around the world gather around their keyboards and send words into the void–or the internet. :)The co-hosts for today are Feather Stone, me, Diedre Knight, C. Lee McKenzie, and Sarah – The Faux Fountain Pen!
You should visit all of us.
The optional question this month is: Do you use AI in your writing and if so how? Do you use it for your posts? Incorporate it into your stories? Use it for research? Audio?
My answer is a simple no. I don’t believe I need artificial intelligence to create. I need it to take care of the mundanities of life, not the beating heart of what it means to be human. But since I don’t want to leave you without beauty to wash away the horrid thought of AI taking over human expression, a song. Enjoy!

I’m definitely with you on wanting AI to take care of the mundane instead of trying to steal creativity. (Shannon at thewarriormuse dot com).
Right? Wash my dishes and clean my house. Do not make art!
Thanks for a new word for me to add to my vocabulary! mundanities I also believe AI is not for creative writing. Thanks for co-hosting!
Thanks for dropping by!
I’d love to see AI harnessed to address the mundanities of life so we all have more time to create, rest, and spend time with those we love. Innovation should work for people, not attempt to replace people.
Exactly!
I’ve managed to stay away so far. I hope it can continue that way. Thank you for co- hosting.
Good plan.
Hi,
I like the phrase “the beating heart of being human:” That’s my point to. I don’t need AI to be what I truly want to be –– a down to earth writer who writes her own stories.
Thank you for co-hosting.
Shalom shalom
Let’s all say it so loud the AI pushers hear us.
I could you some AI for mundane tasks, too. LOL
Thanks for co-hosting. 🙂
Definitely for cooking and cleaning. Give me a Jetson-style replicator.
Great post! Thanks for co-hosting and sharing a song!
My pleasure!
I am also a no. When it can clean my house and cook my food then maybe I’ll sign up.
Definitely on board when it can cook and clean.
Thanks for hosting today. I’m also AI-adverse, though I’m sure there are some ways it can be helpful. I just don’t have the patience or interest to dig them out. @samanthabwriter from Balancing Act
Patience is yet another issue. 😉
Thanks for co-hosting. And for sharing the awesome song.
My pleasure!
When it can do the annoying detail mundane stuff like pay bills, I’m there!
Ditto!
Thanks for co-hosting today, Kim! I hope you have lots of fun! I enjoyed the video.

Hi Kim,
Music enriches so many aspects of our lives. Here’s an example in our lives. For over a week, my husband’s fingers were aching and screaming with pain.
We started playing concerts orchestrated by André Rieu, an internationally famous conductor. (hint: The ladies in the orchestra wear fancy ball gowns and Andre interacts with the musicians and audience).
By the end of the 1.5 hour concert, the pain was gone from Rick’s fingers. We assume the music relaxed his body and the pain went away.
Here’s a favorite:
