It is time once again for The Insecure Writer’s Support Group (IWSG). The co-hosts for the November 6th post are Deidre Knight, Lisa Buie Collard, me, and JQ Rose!
November 6 question: What creative activity do you engage in when you’re not writing?
I have occasionally dabbled in photography, but my primary creative expression is writing.
I leave you with a song.

Hi, Kim! I was so sure that I had visited you on Wednesday. First, thank you for co-hosting on Wednesday! I hope you had fun. Photography is a second creative passion of mine. Thanks for sharing Muse ~ great video! Have a relaxing rest of the weekend!
Photography seems to be the pervasive newer.
I’m not a photographer but I like to capture nature in my mobile phone and use those pictures on the blog. Thank you for co-hosting.
I share mine on social media. Thanks for visiting!
I LOVE Muse!!! I also really enjoy taking pictures but I’m not too good at it. It takes me quite a few tries before I get the right shot!
I just take it and cross my fingers.
Thank you for the Muse song, and for co-hosting this month!
Thanks for dropping by!
I’m a very amateur photographer, and I think there’s a connection with writing in that both activities require you to be observant, to notice small details and think about perspective.
Very true!
Oooooo! I have a new band to follow. Thanks for the video. I need to remember to recharge my spirits with music.
Music is a great balm.
I love taking photos and it often leads to good writing.
Definitely!
Thanks for being a co-host of the IWSG this month Kim. Photography is a creative activity that supports writing, doesn’t it. I find that looking at old photos on my phone or camera takes me back to that time so I can remember better. And then write about it 🙂
It can definitely help the words flow.
Nature photography is a great outlet for me, too. @samanthabwriter fromBalancing Act
I did consider photography early in life, but it does take a certain eye to capture the right picture. I can see its appeal.
I don’t know if I have the best eye, but I enjoy capturing moments.
Photography is cool. Lots and lots of memories are contained in photos. Who doesn’t love it? Thanks for co-hosting!
So many good memories.
All these posts suggest so many ways to express our creativity. Perhaps what’s most important? That we nurture ourselves and those we love, connecting with others in positive ways, especially important now.
Very true!
I still do photography now and then.
It’s a great way of capturing a moment.
Thanks for co-hosting. Other people have mentioned photography as another creative interest.
Thanks for dropping by!
I like photography and am dabbling in videography…
I haven’t done much videography, but it sounds like fun.
Thanks for co-hosting today!
If I’m not writing, I’m reading. Wasn’t sure if reading counted as a creative activity but Googled it to be sure. And yeah, it counts.
Reading is another good one.
I’ve often used the iPhone camera to capture images and write about them, later. Loads of fun sifting through the past photos and the memories they inspire.

Yeah, my camera is also an iPhone camera.
Earlier this year, we sorted through a 20-year old shed load of memories. There were lots of family photos. Some in albums. With the popularity of digital images, I wonder how future generations will sift through pictures of the past.
Thank you for co-hosting our November blog-hop!
That’s a good question. Thanks for dropping by!
Photography is a good one.
I really dig Muse. They do their own thing.
Thanks for co-hosting today!
My pleasure!
Photography is a great endeavor and pairs well with writing! Thanks for co-hosting today.

Thanks for dropping by!
I really enjoy videography. If I ever retire from writing (which I’ve considered), I would love to take old family photos and turn them into video/musical stories.
That’s a cool idea!
