Weekly News

Welcome back for our regularly scheduled news break. I’m on time this week. Yay! Home and relaxing on my favorite chair with the laptop propped up on my lap–as it should be. Summer is kicking around outside, roasting everything under the sun. But you won’t hear any complaints from me because I’m on break. A little sweat is worth days where I can spend time writing. I’m getting much closer to finishing the first draft of my second novel. Ah… So much closer. That is my own personal news.

Now on to the rest of the world. 🙂

This first story is a ten on the ewwww scale. I don’t eat around my computer very often, but that’s going to change to never. I’m never bringing food around my computer again. So gross. I keep wiping along my arms. Clean work spaces people. I’m looking at you twenty-something gamers. Eww!

Biscuits are good, but… Master criminal he is not. Um… some people make it too easy.

This next science story is super cool, and it shows the benefits of looking to biology for engineering solutions for our machines. Nothing like Terminator, of course. But engineering solutions the way our amazing bodies do. Nice!

That’ll do it for me tonight. I have more writing to do. See you in a week–seven more days of words on paper. Night.

About kimlajevardi

I am a forty-something-year-old writer. I'm currently drafting my second book. I've also written short stories, poems, and some non-fiction over the last several years. My interest in writing formed during countless hours with my nose tucked in books. I may have even been clutching a novel as I was born. :)

Wow, some people are so dumb, they deserve to be caught.

Congrats on nearing the end of your draft! I’ve seen pics with bugs in desktop towers, but never in laptops. Ugh. Those must have been mighty good biscuits! Chemical catalysts harden the liquid. Hmm… Why am I picturing some poor mechanic under the wing of a plane, frozen in place with hardened goo all over him?

  3. A blogger buddy once mentioned taking apart someone’s computer and cockroaches were everywhere. They are also attracted to the warmth. While I can’t guarantee my workplace, my home is clean.
    Enjoy your break!

My laptop is well used, but no food. Home is relatively clean (I am a writer after all). No roaches in my home, so I’m hoping against hope. Roaches are sooooooo gross!
