Welcome back to my little news feature: The Weekly News. It’s full of fantastic information to enrich your minds, spark conversation and entertain. Mostly, the latter. I must admit to being thoroughly entertained this week.
You know that the Pokemon Go thing has gone too far when adults are wandering around work oblivious as cameras roll. The weather guy handled it with a lot of humor.
It’s laudable that he wants to turn this into a learning experience for kids. But … it’s ten times bigger than the computers kids already have at home and does a fraction of what those machines can do. And on top of all of that, it cost $51,000.00. Um … I think the kids will want to teach him something instead.
In science news this week, toilets reveal a wealth of artifacts. I just couldn’t resist, and it is a huge find. *Giggle*

That’ll do it for me this evening. See you in seven.
I just saw a Pokemon warning for drivers on the highway today. I’m curious about it, but I don’t think I’ll download it.
There’s so much connecting to that game these days–it’s crazy.
That giant computer reminds me of the one that was in the movie WarGames. I can’t believe for all that money and it’s size, it doesn’t do much.
War Games came to mind for me as well. I also found it ludicrous to spend $51,000 to play Tetris.
Pokemon has gone too far.
Really hope no one digs up my septic tank years from now.
In my neck of the woods, people are hopscotching around neighborhoods in their cars finding those damn things. So many random cars pulled along the road, or in one case I saw earlier this week, in the middle of the road. Crazy!
Your septic tank might prove quite enlightening in a few hundred years. 🙂
I think the pokemon thing on the news show was faked, but the weatherman is a good actor – he really milked it! So the computer guy re-created a pc from like 35 years ago? And it only plays Tetras? I think if he had a wife, she wouldn’t have left — she’d have killed him by now. “Amazingly, three centuries’ worth of pee and poo creates a sticky, gooey coating that actually acts as a fantastic preservative for artifacts.” Hahaha! That’s a great article! Have a good week, Kim! 🙂
It might be fake, but it might not be. It really has become quite ridiculous over here. One guy stopped traffic in the middle of a highway to catch one of those damn things.
There is most definitely a reason why he doesn’t have a wife. 😛
I love that toilet article, too! But I would most definitely not want to be part of the team excavating it.
Have a great weekend, Lex!
