IWSG and Weekly News

InsecureWritersSupportGroup

Welcome back IWSG! It is once again time for our group commiseration.  Come one, come all. (We have chocolate. 😉

The amazing co-hosts for today are: Nancy Gideon, Tamara Narayan,Liesbet @ Roaming About, Michelle Wallace, and Feather Stone!

May Question:  What is the weirdest/coolest thing you ever had to research for your story?

The coolest aspect of research for my current WIP was getting to look at different types of dragons worldwide. I got to look at the characteristics of eastern versus western dragons, physical aspects of fire breathers, and how dragons in literature compare to those from the magical Hollywood realm.

All very important research. I am quite studious. 🙂

Time for some news.

This first story boggled my mind. Um…stretching before robbery?  *Facepalm*

Timely and so very ironic.

This is so cool. Back to the IWSG question above–I am continuously looking up medieval words, clothing, tools, etc…for my current WIP, and the idea that modern medicine is also reaching that far back reminded me that there is always more to learn. Love it!

That’s it for me. See you back here in seven.

About kimlajevardi

I am a forty-something-year-old writer. I'm currently drafting my second book. I've also written short stories, poems, and some non-fiction over the last several years. My interest in writing formed during countless hours with my nose tucked in books. I may have even been clutching a novel as I was born. :)

    I love dragons.

We have several solar fields near us. Most power neighborhoods. Smart way to go.

Dragon research… how intriguing. I just saw on a news program last night that the solar industry employs hundreds of thousands more people than the coal industry. It is time to switch, people… For more than employment and environmental reasons! Liesbet @ Roaming About – A Life Less Ordinary

  3. Who doesn’t want to research dragons?
A lot of places are switching to solar now.
Not often you see cardio before a robbery.

Dragon research sounds like fun! I have no words for the health-conscious thief other than I hope they catch him. Yay for the Coal Museum accepting the obvious and installing cheaper, better solar panels! The medieval antibiotics is awesome! (I wonder if I could give some good medicines to my Paris Catacombs people… Yes, I still haven’t settled on a full plot yet…) Enjoy your week!
