IWSG and Weekly News

It is time for another Insecure Writer’s Support Group (IWSG) post. You’re in for some twittering fun. The hosts this month are:  Louise – Fundy Blue , Jennifer Lane, Mary Aalgaard, Patsy Collins at Womagwriter, Nancy Gideon, and our incomparable leader Alex J. Cavanaugh .

The optional question this month is–Blogging is often more than just sharing stories. It’s often the start of special friendships and relationships. Have you made any friends through the blogosphere?

I have. I’ve participated with IWSG for years now, and through it, I have built a web of relationships with several writers, relationships I value. IWSG is a truly great place to connect, Writer’s Digest was absolutely correct to name it one of the 100 Best Websites For Writers.

Time for some news.

My first story tonight is about Statler the bat. He’s amazing, and I’m not the only one who thinks so. Watch the clip. You will not be able to resist him. https://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/us_6019e6e4c5b69137248daeed

In science news tonight, mapping platypus DNA because … well, because I wanted to read it. 🙂 https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2021/01/210106133034.htm

Last but not least, time for a song.

That’s it for me tonight. See you in seven.

The bat video has made the rounds. Ha! Pretty neat old bat.
IWSG is a great way to connect with other writers. 🙂

  2. I never would have thought the platypus was venomous! How bizarre!

All the writers I’ve met have been through my blog. I’m so glad I started one and very quickly afterwards discovered the IWSG. Although I’m not a member of it at the moment – even though I comment on a lot of the monthly posts – I might sign up again.

Oops! I thought I had left a comment, Kim. I enjoyed the article about the platypus. I was fascinated with them when I was a small girl, still am. Here’s to the IWSG!

That’s so sweet they fly the bat around since he can’t anymore. I love fruit bats. They are just adorable.

  5. Awesome how you made friends through this group. Me too!

  6. That’s great to hear you’ve connected with others through the IWSG.
I saw that flying bat video yesterday. That is one old bat!
