Welcome to the final Wednesday of October 2022. Fast does not begin to describe the speed with which October has come and mostly gone. Halloween is Monday, y’all. I am shocked. The only way to get over my age-related time experience is some distracting news, I guess. 🙂
Happy Hump Day, Y’all! We’re in the best season of the year, and the weather is perfect in my neck of the woods. I’m in a good mood if you couldn’t tell. Let me share the love with some news and a song.
My first link up tonight tells the tale of the bestest seal ever. Check him out!
Welcome to another monthly post of the Insecure Writer’s Support Group (IWSG). It’s the time of the month when twittering keyboard monkeys hop between blogs to commiserate with other twittering keyboard monkeys. Join in the fun by clicking on the image above.
Optional question—What do you consider the best characteristics of your favorite genre?
Well, one of my favorite genres is fantasy. The reason why is first and foremost because of the adventure, but my love of the genre also derives from the presence of magic, the range of creatures (especially dragons!), the incredible world-building, and badass, sword-wielding heroines. I could go on and on, but it’s time for some news.
The first story up tonight is another example of one animal adopting another, and I’m a sucker for these stories.
Happy September 21st. It is the eve before the fall equinox, and my corner of the world is marking it with some rain. As I’m currently under a blankie eating yummy pho, tonight’s post is a music post. Enjoy and I’ll see you in seven.
Welcome back to another posting of The Insecure Writer’s Support Group (IWSG). If you haven’t already clicked on the image above and gotten whisked away for a virtual tour, what are you waiting for? This month I’m one of the co-hosts along with several wonderful other writers. Give their blogs a visit. Cathrina Constantine,Natalie Aguirre,Olga Godim,Michelle Wallace, and Louise – Fundy Blue!
September 7 question – What genre would be the worst one for you to tackle and why?
That’s an easy one. I’m not a romance writer. Could I tackle small romance elements that are secondary? Yes. But in terms of it being the focus of the story, I’m not your girl. It’s just not of interest to me. I get all squeamish if the book I’m reading begins to focus on a romantic relationship for too long, and I honestly will skip pages if I can. It’s just not my jam. So, I leave it to the talented writers out that who love romance and who write it passionately. That’s what the readers deserve. Now that I’ve been serious for several consecutive minutes, it’s time for some fun. Or, more precisely, some fun news.
This first story needs only two words to express what I felt when I saw it: um … what?
Happy Wednesday! We’re rounding out August and plowing toward fall. Fall! I would insert a Gif of playing in the leaves if this wasn’t my official blog.
Ah, heck with that. Here you go—
Now that I’ve had my fun, time to share some news and a song. This first story involves a very unusual way to use a pumpkin.
Happy Wednesday all! It’s the end of August, and we’re on the verge of fall. I love fall! Coffee, soup, changing leaves, and a return of boot season. It’s all good. But I’m getting ahead of myself.
First up on the news front, a return of the mullet. Ugh…
