Hello all! It is the second Wednesday in June, and I’m currently basking in my summer break. I hope this post finds you enjoying some aspect of summer as well. There’s very little to dislike about this season. Seriously. Time for some news.

I love the idea of getting to learn more about the stratosphere and use the stratollites to monitor for natural disasters, but why does it take marketing interests to fund something like this? Is KFC really in charge of pushing our knowledge now?

Time for the monthly question: Did you ever say “I quit”? If so, what happened to make you come back to writing?

Not in those words, but would wanting to chuck my entire manuscript along with the computer where it was stored count to any of you? Yeah, I’ve felt that way more than a few times. But the truth is, I never try and stop that sensation. I give in to it for a couple of hours. I may even use chocolate or junk food to indulge the two-year-old inside me that feels that way. But I never let it carry over into another day. What brings me back each and every time is the crazy idea that writing is the most me thing that I do each day, and if I can’t do it, it would felt like I’d lost an appendage. So, you know, I sit my butt back down in chair the next day. And each and every time–so far–it gets better.

A little deep today, huh? Let me fix that with some news. *Grin*

Sorry I’m a day late. I’ve been nursing a sore throat and incredibly-tired body through the last few days of the school year, and I spent most of last evening napping and groggily vegging between naps and bedtime. But I finished my school year, took a nap, and now sit with tea and a strong dose of resolve to get this done. Time for some news.

May Question:  What is the weirdest/coolest thing you ever had to research for your story?

The coolest aspect of research for my current WIP was getting to look at different types of dragons worldwide. I got to look at the characteristics of eastern versus western dragons, physical aspects of fire breathers, and how dragons in literature compare to those from the magical Hollywood realm.

All very important research. I am quite studious. 🙂
